http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Ring_of_Fire; Speaking for some of us(God Help me for the presumption!) in the SF Bay Area creeping SE on the North American plate ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Plate [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Plate] ), the prospect of ending up near San Diego doesn't seem too bad--the climate is warm Mediterranean, and the average temp of the major ocean current at the beach is a balmy 63 F.(compared to 52). It's the only part of So. Cal. I'd consider as a residence--wake me up in 20 million years: life as a beach bum might make a nice change of pace, BUT I DO insist on hibernating while we pass LA and Riverside. Of course I'll miss my friends in SF who will be living near Portland, OR by then...LOL!!
